Sustainability

How we hold ourselves accountable to the planet

Sustainability is not a feature we offer — it is the operating system of every brand, every event, and every decision we make at TerraMar.

Our approach

Built in, not bolted on

Most event companies treat sustainability as an add-on — a "green option" for clients who ask for it. We built TerraMar the other way around. Every vendor relationship, every material specification, every logistics decision starts with the question: what is the most responsible way to do this?

That means we sometimes say no to beautiful venues that can't meet our waste standards. It means we push back on clients who want flowers flown in from overseas. It means our events cost a little more to produce — and are worth every penny.

Our pillars

Five commitments that govern everything we do

01

Zero-waste event design

We design every event to produce zero landfill waste. That means compostable or reusable tableware, donation programs for leftover food and florals, and detailed waste diversion plans for every venue we work with.

02

Local & seasonal sourcing

We emphasize floral choices using locally-grown, dried, or silk botanicals, or live plant rental. We work with caterers to curate menus based on seasonal, regional ingredients.

03

Vetted vendor network

Every vendor in our network has been evaluated against our Supplier Code of Conduct — covering environmental practices, labor standards, and community impact. We re-evaluate annually and publish our criteria publicly.

04

Carbon accountability

We calculate the carbon footprint of every event we produce — including guest travel, catering, florals, and logistics. We offset 110% of that footprint through verified reforestation and renewable energy projects.

Community investment

1% of every TerraMar invoice goes directly to environmental nonprofits chosen by our clients.

B Corp certification pending

Verified, not self-declared

Our B Corp certification is currently pending a rigorous third-party assessment by B Lab. We are actively working toward a score that will place us in the top tier of applicants. We publish our full impact report annually — including the areas where we are still improving.

Beyond our events

We invest in the ecosystems that make our work possible

Beautiful outdoor weddings depend on healthy forests. Seasonal menus depend on thriving farms. Eco-travel depends on intact ecosystems. We don't just avoid harm — we actively invest in the natural systems that make the experiences we create possible.
